Mr. Didier Houssin

Director of Sustainable Energy Policy and Technology at
the International Energy Agency

Mr Houssin has previously served for five years as Director of Energy Markets and Security and head of the directorate’s predecessor, the Office of Oil Markets and Emergency Preparedness. Between 1997 and 2004 he was the Director of Energy and Mineral Resources in the French Ministry of Economy. Mr Houssin will be speaking about oil, gas and coal technologies for the future energy markets.

Mr. Juhan Parts

Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications, Republic of Estonia

Mr Parts has previously served as the Prime Minister of Estonia, as well as other state positions such as Member of Parliament, Deputy Chancellor of the Ministry of Justice, etc. Minister Parts will be addressing the significance of oil shale in Estonia´s energy indepence and its national development strategies.

Dr.-Ing. Leonhard Birnbaum

Vice Chair Europe, World Energy Council

Leonhard Birnbaum, Member of the Executive Board, E.ON SE, Germany, as of 1st July 2013. He was a Member of the Executive Board of RWE AG from 2008 to March 2013. Prior to that Dr. Birnbaum worked for McKinsey & Company from 1996 to 2008, mainly in the energy sector within Germany and abroad. Mr. Birnbaum will be speaking  about Global and European Energy Perspectives.

Hardo Pajula

 
Hardo Pajula is an Estonian economist. He graduated from the University of Cambridge with  the degree of MPhil in Economics in 1995 and has since then worked as an economist for Hansabank, PricewaterhouseCoopers and SEB. He served as an economic adviser to the prime minister of Estonia in 1996. He has translated two books into Estonian: The Road to Serfdom by Friedrich Hayek and The Firm, the Market and the Law by Ronald Coase.

 

2-day Field Trip registration closed
The Field Trip could accomodate only a limited number of participants and the places have been filled already with a number of people in the waiting list. Therefore registration to the Field Trip has been closed. Those who have been informed of being in the waiting list will be informed if openings occur.
